Elio Rinero

Elio Rinero was born in Beinasco on April 8, 1947.

He started his football career in the Juventus youth team and debuted in Serie A on January 15 1967, in the game against Vicenza. He appeared in five games that season and Juve won the scudetto. In 1967-68 he was loaned to Verona in Serie B and the Gialloblu were promoted to Serie A.


In 1968 he was loaned to Lazio who were in Serie B. He played 21 games that season (19 in Serie B and 2 in Coppa Italia) and the Biancocelesti were promoted to Serie A. He returned to Juventus but after appearing in one game in the autumn transfer window he was sold to Genoa. The 1969-70 season was a terrible one for the Ligurian side and they were relegated to Serie C. The following year he signed for Reggina in Serie B and after a year moved to Spal where he played for three years winning promotion to Serie B in 1973-74.


His last two years of active football were played at Salernitana and Bari, both in Serie C. He stopped playing in 1977. He then started a coaching career and for five years was manager for a few minor Piedmontese teams.


Rinero was an important part of the side which managed to get promoted and win the Serie B in 1968-69.
